We had an exceptional stay at a charming lodge in Sabah. The friendly owner went out of their way to make us feel welcome and even offered us fresh fruits regularly. The location was perfect for exploring the beautiful surroundings, such as the stunning views of Mount Kinabalu and the nearby Poring hot springs. Our basic room had comfortable amenities and excellent air conditioning. Despite a few minor inconveniences, like temporary blackouts and a rough road, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the lodge. I highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful and affordable stay in Sabah.

Free fruit provided from the garden. Bed comfortable. Good location close to hot springs.
Lots of ants in one of the beds. Bathrooms were small and smelly.

Wow, they have a terrace, a garden, and even a snack bar! Free WiFi in certain areas, like it's the Stone Age. Oh, and a playground, in case I want to swing like a five-year-old.
No WiFi, like I've been transported back to the 1800s.

The owners were unbelievably awesome! They upgraded our room for our honeymoon trip, decorated our bed with love shaped flowers and balloons, and even prepared fruits and mineral water. The lodge is located just a stone's throw away from Poring Hot Springs and restaurants. We had towels and soap provided, and the peaceful environment ensured a great night's sleep. Ordering food was a breeze with the option to call restaurants for delivery. The huge parking space and open kitchen/pantry were a convenient touch. The mini store had a great selection of canned drinks, snacks, and candies. The super fast wifi in our room allowed us to relax and even watch a movie.

The decoration at Kinabalu Poring Vacation Lodge was beautifully rustic, with traditional wooden furniture and cozy touches that made me feel right at home. The general areas of the lodge were well-maintained and clean, making it easy for me to navigate as a senior. The lodge's location near Poring hot springs was convenient for enjoying nature and relaxation.
I would have appreciated more assistance from the staff during my stay. It would have made for a better vacation for senior people like myself if the children working there were more attentive and available to provide help or answer questions.

I stayed at the Kinabalu Poring Lodge for a couple of nights during my budget travel around Borneo. The room was basic but clean, and I had everything I needed. The owners were incredibly friendly and even upgraded our room for our honeymoon trip. The location was great, surrounded by beautiful cocoa trees and banana plantations. We were also very close to Poring Hot Springs and the tropical garden. The environment was quiet, allowing for a restful sleep. a great choice for budget travelers.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

The charming rustic decor of Kinabalu Poring Vacation Lodge added a warm and cozy atmosphere to our stay. The wooden furniture and traditional art pieces reminded me of my childhood home, making me feel instantly comfortable. The common areas were well-maintained and spacious, with plenty of seating options for relaxation. As a senior, I appreciated the easy accessibility throughout the lodge, with well-lit pathways and handrails to assist me in navigating the premises.
I would have loved to see more organized activities catered towards seniors during our stay at Kinabalu Poring Vacation Lodge. While the children working there were extremely friendly and helpful, a few additional options tailored to the needs and interests of senior guests would have been a wonderful addition.

A Garden Terrace That Surpassed All Expectations. Staying at this lodge was like being transported into a tropical paradise. As I stepped into the garden terrace, I was greeted by the lush greenery and vibrant flowers that surrounded me. It felt like walking through a magical garden, where every corner held a pleasant surprise. Whether I was enjoying the outdoor rain shower or simply basking in the serene atmosphere, the garden terrace offered a peaceful retreat unlike any other.

I chose Kinabalu Poring Vacation Lodge for its close proximity to Poring National Park. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find other amenities such as laundry facilities and supervised childcare. The shared kitchen was a bonus, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. I particularly enjoyed the stunning sunset view from the lounge.
No wifi, rude owners, long walk.
